Just when you thought it was gone, Pearl Jam decided to bring back the giant inflatable “Baby Trump” balloon, and fly it outside of their gig in London on Tuesday night.
The oversized helium balloon of the President debuted last week in the UK during President Trump’s state vist. We thought we’d seen the last of it but there it was, floating outside the O2 Arena while Pearl Jam played inside.
Singer Eddie Vedder has made no secret of what he thinks of the current President and on stage he explained his position all over again: “I know at home, it feels very divisive. It feels like he’s…added such divisive energy into how we get along back home,” adding: “Then I realized the other day watching all the protests here down in the square…[Trump’s] actually bringing people together in a great way. If you get 250,000 protestors of all ages, cultures, different sexual orientations…you know, maybe he’s uniting people in a way that is gonna be needed in the near future.”
The London show, was a make up show for the one the band had to cancel in June and was postponed after Vedder briefly lost his voice. This was the last stop on Pearl Jam’s European tour, and the band are gearing up to kick off a U.S. stadium tour starting August 8th in their home town of Seattle.
