With the new Smashing Pumpkins reunion tour on the horizon, founder member/ guitarist/ singer Billy Corgan gave fan’s a hint of what is to come when he performed on the The Late Late Show.
Corgan did an intimate acoustic performance of the track ‘Archer,’ taken from the EP ‘Ogilala’ released inm2017. Corgan and two other acoustic guitars, gave a killer rendition of the track, taken from an EP that was all about sparseness, whether that be piano, or guitar.
With the new Smashing Pumpkins‘ reunion tour looming later this year, fans are obviously excited to see almost the full line-up reunited. Guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin
have come back into the fold but bassist D’Arcy Wretzky is not involved with the reunion.
By all accounts, the relationship with Corgan is a no go, and Wretzky even shared screengrabs of her conversations with Corgan to do with the upcoming reunion tour. Corgan has gone on to admit that the bridges with Wretzky have been burned “forever’ following the pairs very public spat.
Corgan told NME magazine that even though he feels “attacked by the mob,” he still feels that this is “the happiest time” that the Smashing Pumpkins have ever experienced as a band.”
