Check Out These Killer Guitars made from Used Skateboards

-

Namm 2019 is officially in full swing, companies will be touting their wares on full throttle but we’ve found a nice little company that packs a massive punch when it comes to guitars.

Artist, musician, and skateboarder, 22-year-old Nick Pourfard is currently combing his considerable talents into one serious idea: guitars built completely out of reclaimed skateboard decks.

His company is called Prisma Guitars and his creations are 100% handmade and created from discarded skateboards that have been used or broken.

The San Francisco-based industrial design student taught himself woodworking and recently had the honor of building a piece for Iron Maiden’s bassist Steve Harris. Pourfard explained that: “I took every detail of his playing style and aesthetic into consideration.” Adding: “The bass has an off-white painted alder back with skate top featuring colors as close to West Ham as possible. I laser cut a custom mirror pickguard and bound the whole body in black and white to pay homage to his classic original bass.”

So, if you fancy being a part of Nick’s vision, you can donate used or broken skateboards to Pourfard by checking the details of how and where to send them by clicking here.
