Dave Grohl For SNL

-

What has rockstar Dave Grohl not yet triumphed at?

The 46-year-old former drummer of the 90s grunge sensation Nirvana has lead a career rich in accomplishments hailed by the public and his fan base, including musical contributions with his first hardcore punk group Scream, 2009-formed supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, and internationally acclaimed rock group Foo Fighters – and that’s just scratching the surface!DG SQ

And after a dozen appearances on NBC’s mega-popular live comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live, the musical star hasn’t yet landed a spot on the show as an official host himself! What gives?! We would all love to see that!

Grohl’s fans (commonly referred to as Grohlies) have recently issued an online petition to help generate awareness to SNL creator and producer, Canadian-American television mogul Lorne Michaels.

And Grohl seems to be all for the fun by joining in on the social media-fueled encouragement himself!

A Facebook page has been created in order to push awareness of the petition (Facebook.com/DaveGrohlHostSNL), as well as a Twitter account (Twitter.com/DaveGrohlOnSNL)

Now, let’s cross our fingers for Dave! After all, he is more than qualified!

As well as leading a successful solo career, Grohl has released 2 documentaries within the last 2 years as director of 2013’s Sound City, which tells the moving story of the glory days and recent resurrection of the historic west coast recording studio of the same name, and as director of HBO’s 2014 premiere of Sonic Highways, which depicts the different recording qualities and techniques used in various studios throughout the country.

With such an extensive resume, we think it’s appropriate to jump in on the group shout to Lorne Michaels and the rest of the SNL team to let Grohl finally take stage, front and center! Let’s make it happen!
