Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody One Year Sober

-

We constantly write about tales of excess when it comes to rock n roll but here’s a celebration of someone that turned their back against all of that.

Ivan Moody vocalist for the band Five Finger Death Punch will this week celebrate a full year of sobriety. No small feat when you are surrounded by the trappings of being in a rock n roll band. To celebrate his bandmates have taken to social media to celebrate the singer’s massive accomplishment.

FFDP’s Chris Kael said via Instagram: “Join me in celebrating @ivanmoody today on his One Year Sober Birthday! Roughly 75 percent of those who start the path to sobriety don’t make it a full year. I’ve seen firsthand the work that Ivan has done through 365 consecutive days to get himself to this HUGE milestone,” “I’ve seen the amazing, positive changes in him over this past year that have gotten closer and closer to the man we all knew he could be. I’m proud of you, my friend. As are countless people you have inspired along the way. Keep that shit up!”

It has been a wild ride for Moody, he quit the band multiple times and has some serious outbursts onstage. This all changed when he decided it was finally time to go to rehab.

This isn’t the first member of the band to have succumbed to the excess of rock n roll. The band parted with their drummer Jeremy Spencer last December, due to his physical state.

You can catch Five Finger Death Punch at this year’s INKCARCERATION music and tattoos festival at the Historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio, July 12th-14th.
