He was in one of the biggest rock bands of all time. Glenn Hughes, the former bassist/singer for Deep Purple, will be touring to celebrate the music of Purple when he hits the road in the Northeast and Midwest to bring the the Classic Deep Purple Live tour during August and September of this year.
The tour opens up on August 25th in Westbury, New York, and will come full circle when it ends on September 21st in Tarrytown, New York.
Of course, Hughes will lead vocals and bass on the tour, and will have guitarist Soren Anderson, keyboardist Jesper Bo Hansen and drummer Fer Escobedo as his band.
Fans of Deep Purple can expect to hear Hughes singing songs from his time with the band, and were told he will also be performing some of Deep Purple’s earlier classics as well.
This isn’t the first time Hughes has toured with the Classic Deep Purple Live tour. He first took the tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2017, as well as Europe and South America earlier this year.
Glenn’s stint with Deep Purple was from 1973 to 1976 and was part of what was known as the band’s “Mark III” and “Mark IV” versions. Those same versions of the band featured David Coverdale on lead vocal duties.
