It’s music to our ears. Iconic band, ELO has announced that this November it will release Alone In The Universe. This will be the band’s first album in over a decade and they’ve made the first single “When I Was A Boy” available to listen to via streaming.
The “Telephone Line” hitmakers will issue their 12th album on November 13 via Columbia Records. If you pre-order the album you will also get the single as an instant download.
Singer Jeff Lynne says: “Music is such a powerful force in our lives. A good song can make people feel much less alone in this universe. And trying to create one of those songs somehow makes me feel less alone too. My whole life -—from being that kid with a dream in Birmingham right until today— proves how much music can do.”
Fans were ecstatic when Lynne revealed late last year that ELO was “a going concern again” and when the band performed at the Grammys in February, that seemed to confirm that the band was back.
Columbia Records released a statement through the labels president, Ashley Newton, saying, “Jeff Lynne is a total master of his craft and Alone In The Universe is pure pop perfection. We are thrilled to be involved in the return of ELO and enormously proud to be releasing this contemporary classic on Columbia Records.” Check out the new single “When I Was A Boy”, right here at Rock My World.
