If you’re thinking of popping off to Las Vegas next year with your partner, maybe you should take this into consideration: if marriage is on your mind, Billy Idol will be in town, and as he says in this 1980s hit, “ it’s a nice day for a white wedding.”
The “Rebel Yell” hitmaker announced on his website that he has signed up to do a 12-show residency in Sin City beginning in March 2016.
The British Rocker will perform his residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. This will be Idol’s very first multi-date residency and will be joined on stage by his longtime guitarist, and equally recognizable guitar player, Steve Stevens for the Vegas run.
The show titled “Billy Idol: Forever” has promised that Idol will play all the hits by his former band Generation X and of course his solo work that made him a household name during the 80s.
Idol is the latest in a long line of high-profile artists to sign up for a Las Vegas residency. Who can blame him when you see the likes of Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez making in excess of $300,000 per show in the City of Lights.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday November 13th. So get out you’re favourite 80s attire, and as Billy said himself, it’s gonna get “Hot In The City”.
