What a week it’s been for Paul McCartney. The ex- Beatles legend is celebrating his new first number one album in 36 years with the release of his new album, Egypt Station. And to co-inside with its release he has followed it up with the first video for the album, for the track “Back in Brazil.”
The video is set in Sao Paolo, Brazil and features live footage of McCartney and his band.
Prior to the album’s release McCartney seriously did the rounds to promote Egypt Station and all the hard work has seriously paid off.The album was released September 7thand surpassed it’s expected sales, the album sold 153,000 units out of the box according to Billboard.
In other McCartney news, he and more than 150 artists and music industry executives combined to write a strongly worded letter to the parent company of SiriusXM radio in order to pressure the satellite radio giants to change its licensing practices.
The letter addressed the Music Modernization Act, a bill that has strong support in Congress that would update licensing policies for music streamed by companies like Spotify and Apple Music. Songwriters and performers are backing the bill as it would “modernize” the process of musicians and writers claiming royalties and make it easier to protect licenses.
