They’re back. For the first time in almost 14 years, A Perfect Circle’s release of their new studio album ‘Eat the Elephant,’ is a certifiable success. It debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number three.
It moved a huge amount of units on its release with Eat the Elephant moving 68,000 unit sales, 63,000 of which were purchased as traditional album sales.
Prior to their latest release, the bands last album, 2004’s Emotive, landed at the number No. 2 spot with 142,000 copes sold in its first week. The album shifted 142,000 copes sold in its first week alone.
The band have a rabid fan-base, A Perfect Circle’s 2000 release, Mer de Noms and 2003’s Thirteenth Step, both ended up being certified platinum in the US.
So with Eat the Elephant now available, and doing serious numbers in regards to sales, A Perfect Circle have announced they are hitting the road to support the album. They have two upcoming tours, the first will run from May 12th, finishing May 25th, and then resuming on October 20th through till November 20th.

Should fans of the band need anymore, A Perfect Circle’s singer, Maynard James Keenan, will be releasing another Tool album as soon as the album is completed. Expect this to do very nicely on the Billboard 200 chart also as Tool haven’t released an album since 2006.
