Rival Sons’ frontman Jay Buchanan has a captivating vocal range that pushes the listener into a trance, leaving you speechless and forgetful of time and place.

On September 28th, the band, which is currently signed to Earache Records, announced via Twitter that it is currently recording its 6th studio album in Nashville, Tennessee with internationally renowned producer Dave Cobb.

Cobb, who was highlighted in Rolling Stone‘s Producer Profile in 2014, will be once-again responsible for emphasizing the band’s classic, heavy sound as a follow up to its 2014 release of Great Western Valkyrie, which he contributed his sonic visions on.

The upcoming record has no set release date, but the California-based rockstars will be headed out on the road in November of this year with hard rock legends Deep Purple on an 18-date European run. Rival Sons’ will offer a special version of Great Western Valkyrie in celebration of the tour.

That’s not all! When the Deep Purple tour ends, Rival Sons has just announced it will kick off its US/Canadian tour with Black Sabbath in Omaha, Nebraska on January 20, 2016. For a band that has been on the scene for a mere 6 years, Rival Sons has quickly earned its credibility to score such an honorary position as supporting act for Sabbath’s final world tour.

Rival Sons guitarist Scott Holliday says on its official website, “We couldn’t be more honored and excited to announce we’ll be supporting the legendary Black Sabbath on their upcoming world tour! This will take us to places we haven’t been yet and back to those places where we’ve made so many friends and fans. Here we go folks…Black Sabbath and Rival Sons coming to your town/city/country soon!”
