Sam Smith, the world’s favorite soul pop crooner, is working on the release of his second studio album. His 2014 debut album “In The Lonely Hour” received critical acclaim and rocketed Smith into the realm of stardom forever.
At one point this summer, Smith snapped bits of his recording sessions with London-based singer-songwriter and music producer Jimmy Napes. He later sent out a tweet that said, “Reading through all your comments x Love you all so much. Can’t wait for you all to hear the music!!!!!”
In an official note to his fans via newsletter, Sam Smith stated: “First of all I want to say thank you. Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really escape into my mind & write music so freely. I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can’t wait to tell you. The wait is so nearly over. Something is coming very very very very soon. I am scared & excited at the same time. I’ve poured my soul & heart into this record.”
Idolator has reported on unaccounted speculation that the 25-year-old artist could even be dropping the first offering from the upcoming album this week. Maybe? We have high hopes.
Aside from Napes, Smith has also been in collaborative efforts with longtime writing partner Naughty Boy, and has even been toying away at the new tunes with American producer and rapper Timbaland, as well as with English electronic group Clean Bandit.
