Springsteen Releases Free Music To Download


In a belated holiday gift to fans, singer Bruce Springsteen released a collection of previously unreleased live recordings (in MP3 format) from the concert he played with The E Street Band in Tempe Arizona on November 5th,1980 for free to fans.BRUCE SQ

The 10 songs come from the same show documented in Springsteen’s live video that’s included with Springsteen’s new release The Ties That Bind: The River Collection box set.

A must for all Springsteen fans the free downloadable songs, which include renditions of “Darkness on the Edge of Town”, “Candy’s Room” and “Backstreets” are tracks that were not filmed for use in the concert video.

The downloads, which by the way, will only will be available for free for a limited time, have the added bonus of being mixed by acclaimed engineer/ mixer Bob Clearmountain.

The 10-song collection is also available now for purchase in a high-res digital format. You can preorder the CD version of the songs now and it will ship in mid-January.

The previously unreleased recordings were recorded at Arizona State University during Springsteen’s tour in support of his 1980 album, The River.

As we announced in an earlier story, The Ties That Bind: The River Collection was released in early December. The box set contains four CDs and either three DVDs or two Blu-ray discs, and includes a remastered edition of The River, an early 10-song single-disc version of the album; a stack of outtakes; a making-of documentary; the Arizona State University concert video and much, much, more.
