Ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler has apparently been hospitalized after reportedly stabbing himself in the stomach.
Adler, who is 54, was rushed to a hospital on Thursday night after reports were leaked that a man had stabbed himself at his LA home, says TMZ.
TMZ revealed that LA PD had told the website that emergency services had taken a call from Adler’s Studio City home shortly after 6.30pm, saying that someone had stabbed themselves.
On arrival, police and paramedics say they found Adler suffering stab wounds to his abdomen.
It was explained that Adler was then taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries and that no one else was reported to have been involved in the stabbing.
It’s all very sad for Adler, after being fired from the band he went down a destructive path of booze and drugs and was snubbed by Guns N’ Roses when the band reformed and embarked on their hugely successful ‘Not In This Lifetime Tour.’
Adler also became a bestselling author, penning his book: “My Appetite for Destruction: Sex & Drugs & Guns N’ Roses”.
Released in 2011, the book includes the financial ruin he faced after being axed from Guns N’ Roses, as well as serious health problems that almost killed him several times.
These include two heart attacks, a suicide attempt, debilitating stroke, and 20-year-long addiction to crack and heroin.
Adler, who now tours with his own band has an estimated net worth of £13.4million ($17m), according to Celebs Net Worth Today.
