He has long been a fan of the band, and now he gets to show just how much when Trent Reznor will presentThe Cure when they are inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this month.
Reznor has made it known that he’s been a fan of Robert Smith’s band for a long time and that he as a special place in his heart for The Cure’s 1985 album, The Head on the Door.
In an interview last summer Reznor told The Quietus: “That album got me through a lot of long dark times,” adding: “I felt that this Robert Smith guy really understood who I was, and I loved The Cure from that point on.”
So who else will be presenting inductees at this year’s 2019 Rock Hall ceremony? Inductees for this year will include: include David Byrne for Radiohead, Queen’s Brian May for Def Leppard, Harry Styles for Stevie Nicks, Duran Duran’s John Taylor and Simon Le Bon for Roxy Music, Janelle Monae for Janet Jackson, and The Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs for The Zombies.
You can see the real thing when the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on March 29th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. If you can’t make it in person you can see the whole thing when it airs on HBO April 27th.
