Woodstock 50 has yet to give the rundown of artists to appear at this year’s historic festival but we’ve got the skinny on some of the artists have been confirmed for the August 16th-18th celebration in Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Billboard have so far confirmed that The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Santana, Grateful Dead offshoot Dead & Company and Chance The Rapper will all be appearing at the festival. This year’s event is being organized by original Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang.
Much like the original event, this week rumors of financial issues had already started to affect Woodstock 50 as it was revealed that some artists booked had not been paid in full yet.
Because Woodstock 50 not partnering with a major promoter live Live Nation or AEG, the various booking agencies that represent the artists on the bill are being very strict about being paid in full before their clients commit to the festival. That has been addressed, and as of Monday night (March 4th), those said artists have been paid in full.
Talking to Lang Billboard Lang explained that the rest of the lineup, which will feature over 80 artists, and cross many genres, will be announced “within the next couple of weeks” and that fans can expect “a once in a lifetime event.”
